We just updated our website to include the latest home sales data for Washoe County and, as expected, it’s more of the same. New home sales have continued to struggle in this depressed market, with nearly all of the recent sales activity occurring in the resale market. There are far fewer qualified home buyers these days, and those who ARE shopping are almost certainly shopping on price. With the glut of distressed (ie: short sale or bank owned) homes on the market, median transaction prices for existing homes continue to fall far below those of new homes in the area.
